Exploring Our Worm Compost

Standard

Today we decided to check out our worm compost. Last week we moved all of the food to one side and marked it with the spoons. This week we moved the rich compost into another bin (the worms moved to the spoon side where the food is). We looked for egg sacs, baby worms, and used our macro lens (olloclip) with the ipad to take pictures and video. Filming is hard with a macro lens, so we grabbed a tripod to help. We also got to explore lighting and focusing with the camera which was fun.

Here are some videos of our discoveries as well:

The Garden Club members truly thought this was the best meeting yet. We have decided to up our meetings to twice a week so we can start working on our gardening guide. It should be an exciting rest of the school year!!
