Today We Were a Salad Club

Standard

We finally harvested some of our romaine lettuce growing in the cold frame. We planted the seeds on April 23. So it took a little over a month for them to grow from seeds which is pretty neat!

Lettuce can be harvested and it will grow back 2-3 times per head. When you think about the money one spends on lettuce at the store, it is a lot of savings in money as well as energy! You can also try cutting your own lettuce and putting it in water to try and make it grow.

Here is a picture of the lettuce when it had just started growing.

Finally, here it is being enjoyed on our plates!

Some members even took some of their lettuce home in a container to share with their families!
